The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in cooperation with the Emirates Schools Establishment and Palms Sports P.J.S.C., announced the launch of the Active Hub programme, which aims to utilise sports facilities available in 23 schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi after official working hours to benefit male and female students, their families, and other community members year-round.
These 23 schools (13 in Abu Dhabi, 5 in Al Ain, 5 in Al Dhafra) open their sports facilities to the above-mentioned groups to encourage them to practice sports, which in turn inculcates positives values in the participants and improves their physical fitness. By making sports part of their daily lifestyles, the practitioners also end up boosting their happiness levels.
Sports and activities available include football, volleyball, basketball, Muay Thai, fitness classes, aerobics, athletics, swimming, water sports, and Jiu-Jitsu.
