The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and ADNOC have signed a strategic partnership agreement, extending ADNOC's sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi Marathon for three consecutive editions in 2025, 2026, and 2027. This collaboration underscores both parties' commitment to promoting sustainable sports initiatives and fostering community engagement.
The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Counci and Saif Al Falahi, ADNOC’s Director, Group Business Support & Special Tasks.
Through this agreement, ADNOC reaffirms its role as the title sponsor of the marathon for the seventh consecutive year, in a strong strategic partnership aimed at supporting community sports and promoting a healthy lifestyle across the country, particularly in Abu Dhabi.
ADNOC is proud to continue its support of the Abu Dhabi Marathon, carrying forward the legacy of one of the city’s most celebrated community sporting events. This partnership is about more than just race day — it’s about encouraging healthy, active lifestyles and creating moments that bring people together, whether they’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines.
With the addition of the Al Dhannah 10KM and the Al Ain Half Marathon, the event series is expanding beyond the capital, welcoming more communities across the emirate and showcasing the UAE’s commitment to wellness and sport. These events not only offer more opportunities for people to take part, but also help position Abu Dhabi as a key destination in the global running community.
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani emphasized that the continuation of this partnership with ADNOC reflects the mutual trust and shared vision between the two entities in supporting sports in Abu Dhabi. He stated, "The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon has become a global event thanks to this fruitful collaboration, and we are committed to furthering this success by supporting communities and delivering events that elevate the participant experience year after year."
Al Awani further noted that in the "Year of Community," the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon holds special significance, as it opens avenues for all community members to participate and interact, strengthening social bonds through a unifying sporting event that raises health awareness and reinforces values of solidarity and belonging.
He added, "The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon represents a shining example of the UAE's cultural landscape, embodying the nation's vision in establishing purposeful gatherings and positive assemblies that spread values of happiness, tolerance, and coexistence on the land of Zayed. The event also conveys the message of love and peace that characterizes the UAE community, where diverse cultures coexist in a nation of giving and progress."
Al Awani concluded, "Year after year, the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon progresses from success to success, with its routes evolving, prize funds increasing, the number of participants growing, and attracting elite international runners, all amidst extensive international media coverage."
Saif Al Falahi said: “For six years, the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon has been a much-anticipated celebration of community spirit and friendly competition between friends, families, colleagues and elite international athletes. We are delighted to extend our long-running partnership with one of the country’s most exciting sporting events of the year and look forward to welcoming participants from all around the world for many more unforgettable experiences together with ADSC.”
