Final Round of Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge Season 2 to Be Held in Al Ain Desert on Saturday

The fourth and final round of the second season of the Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge will kick off on Saturday, April 19, in the Al Ain region. The event is organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in collaboration with the Emirates Motorsports Organization.

The season finale will see the participation of 92 competitors from 30 nationalities, including 24 Emirati drivers, in a thrilling event that brings together elite professionals and enthusiastic amateurs in the breathtaking desert landscape.

The Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge aims to nurture young talent in motorsports and create a competitive environment that allows beginners to gain experience alongside seasoned drivers at both regional and international levels. Launched as a community sports initiative inspired by the vision of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the challenge has quickly gained popularity among drivers from the GCC and around the world.

The upcoming round will feature 50 motorcycles, 7 quad bikes, 7 cars, and 28 buggies, racing over a track that spans more than 100 kilometers across four laps, weaving through the soft sand dunes of the Al Dhafra Desert — offering a unique and exhilarating experience for adventure and motorsport enthusiasts.

Competitors will represent countries including the UK, Germany, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil, Portugal, France, Pakistan, Australia, Lithuania, the USA, India, Ireland, Lebanon, Kuwait, Spain, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Ukraine, Russia, Denmark, Canada, Uzbekistan, Switzerland, Poland, and Kazakhstan.

His Excellency Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, emphasized the importance of organizing the final round of the second season, stating:

“Once again, the Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge brings together professionals and amateurs in a competitive, enjoyable, and safe environment, adhering to the highest safety standards in this fourth and final round of the season.”

Al Hashemi highlighted the fierce competition expected for the season titles, which will be determined by the cumulative points across all rounds, with the winners to be crowned after the conclusion of the final stage. He also noted that the strong turnout from diverse nationalities is a testament to the event’s success and growing reputation as one of the leading sporting events in the region.

He added :

“Through organizing events of this caliber, we reaffirm the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s commitment to developing the skills of local drivers and encouraging their participation in major international championships both within the UAE and abroad.”
