USA TEAM MIAMI CLINCH VICTORY IN FIBA 3X3 WORLD TOUR ABU DHABI MASTERS FINAL

Miami has won the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Abu Dhabi Masters Final this evening, against the backdrop of the iconic Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Al Ain.

Organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with the International Basketball Federation, taking place over two days, with the participation of 14 teams from nine different countries, Miami won the title after beating Partizan 21-13 in the final. After an exciting match that highlighted the great rivalry between both teams, it was the American squad who received the champion’s $40,000 cash prize from His Excellency Suhail Al Arifi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in the presence of Ignacio Soriano, Head of Events and Partnerships, FIBA, a number of leaders in the sports field and an enthusiastic audience.

Al Arifi congratulated Team Miami on their wonderful performance in the final match and praised the strong competition which both teams displayed amidst the encouragement and enthusiasm of the masses.

He stated: “Once again, we thank everyone who contributed to the success of this global championship, from the supporting bodies to the partners and sponsors for their great role in the success achieved by this tournament, which is one of the largest events on the International Basketball Federation's calendar.

“Abu Dhabi shines again, achieving great success in hosting the largest sporting events, and enhancing its status as the capital of world sports. We wish the teams that participated in the tournament every success in reaching the 2024 Paris Olympics.”

Jimmer Fredette was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, receiving his award from Nasser Al Zaabi, Director of the Corporate Communications Office at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Rafal Lipinkski won the Dunk Challenge and was presented with his prize from Hamdan Saeed Al Zaabi, representative of the UAE Basketball Association.

The three-pointer competition, which carries a prize of $500, was won by Omaha’s Trey Bardsley. The American received his award from Mohammed Abdullah Ahmed Al Dhaheri, representative of Al Ain Sports Games.

Miami leave Al Ain with $40,000 in prize money, as well as qualifying for the next FIBA 3x3 World Tour competition in Wuxi, China.

The second-place team received $30,000, third-place $22,000, fourth-place $16,000, fifth-place $10,000, sixth-place $6,000, and seventh-place $4,000.
