Over 3,000 Runners Participate in the Second Edition of the “One Run” International Race on Hudayriyat Island
The second edition of the “One Run” international race concluded with resounding success on Hudayriyat Island, drawing the participation of more than 3,000 runners from diverse nationalities and age groups. The event, one of the world’s largest half-marathon races, was jointly organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Hero League.
The race is part of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s ongoing commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging community-wide engagement in physical activity. Participants had the option to compete in various race categories, including the half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and 1 km distances, allowing people of all ages and fitness levels to take part in a vibrant and energetic sporting experience.
The race was held on the dedicated cycling track on Hudayriyat Island, one of Abu Dhabi’s premier sports and entertainment destinations. The venue is renowned for its scenic views and state-of-the-art infrastructure, offering an ideal environment for athletic events and enhancing the overall experience for participants.
Organizing the event aligns with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s vision of integrating sports into everyday life through major community and sporting events. These initiatives aim to increase public awareness about the importance of physical activity and contribute to improving the overall quality of life in the emirate.
Participants expressed their enthusiasm and satisfaction with the race, praising the high-quality organization, enjoyable course, and the motivating atmosphere that prevailed throughout the event. They also commended the efforts of all parties involved in making the event a success.
Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said:
